DACA Chapter 9 Summary: Availability of Marriage Green Cards for DACA Recipients
Many individuals obtain their status in the United States through family-based immigration. One such measure is a marriage green card. A marriage green card allows a noncitizen spouse the authority to live and work anywhere in the United States. A couple must prove the legitimacy of the marriage in order for the spouse to receive governmental approval. DACA recipients who are married to United States citizens may have a path to a marriage green card if the correct circumstances exist. A number of potential hurdles exist for a DACA recipient to get a green card in this fashion, but it is possible, and its possibilities are discussed in this chapter.
